Salonhosting – Ursula Hillbrand’s Approach to the Art of Hosting

Based on the Art of Hosting, dialogic process facilitation, and many years of international leadership experience, Salonhosting designs formats that strengthen trust, activate collective intelligence, and make transformation possible.

Art of Hosting – The Heart of Our Work

Art of Hosting is more than a collection of methods. It is a way of working that shapes conversations, meetings, trainings, and transformation processes so that genuine participation becomes possible. At its core are:

    • Questions that matter,
    • Spaces where diversity becomes productive, and
    • Processes that emerge through listening, dialogue, and shared responsibility.

Salonhosting combines this approach with extensive experience in European institutions, public administration, companies, universities, and civil society contexts. Ursula Hillbrand is one of the most experienced practitioners of participatory leadership in the German speaking and European context and brings the Art of Hosting into organisations where transformation is not merely managed, but co-created.

Process Facilitation & Leadership in Times of Change

When organisations are going through change, conventional meetings are no longer enough. What is needed are spaces where people can find orientation, truly listen to one another, and develop meaningful next steps together.

Salonhosting supports leaders, teams, and organisations during transition processes, cultural transformation, strategic retreats, stakeholder dialogues, and participatory development processes. The focus is not on superficial moderation, but on carefully designed process architectures that create clarity, trust, and participation.

Ursula Hillbrand is one of the most experienced practitioners of participatory leadership in the German speaking and European context and brings Art of Hosting into organisations where transformation is not only managed but shaped collaboratively.

Ursula Hillbrand – Pioneer of the Art of Hosting

Ursula Hillbrand is a lawyer, transformation consultant, executive coach, and process designer. After 25 years of working in and with European institutions, she now supports organisations, leaders, and teams in transformation processes, strategic dialogues, and participatory formats.

Her work brings together the Art of Hosting, Theory U, systemic thinking, Social Presencing Theater, and deep experience in international leadership and participation processes.

At the centre of her work is the question of how people can reconnect in complex situations, take shared responsibility, and shape the future through genuine participation.

          Current Events & Trainings

Current trainings, salon evenings, and events invite participants to experience the Art of Hosting, participatory leadership, and dialogic process facilitation firsthand. Whether open trainings, salon evenings, or tailor-made formats – these are spaces for learning, resonance, and new practice.

There are no upcoming events at this point.

former Secretary General of the European Investment Bank
“We asked Ursula Hillbrand to help us work with the different leadership concepts in our management teams including executives. Her diplomatic way of working accepts different styles and cultures elegantly, and still she smartly invites everyone in the room to create a shared purpose, which she was able to hold for us from the background in a sustainable way through a longer process. We also have a great experience of an away day she designed and facilitated for my staff. She has a great talent to work with the non-manifested potential of a group and make it visible.”

“As our client in the European Commission, her dedication to create a warm and safe space of authentic human relations in a highly hierarchical workplace, and generate a continually increasing value to both the organization and community members, was the biggest factor in accomplishing our mission.”

“The combination of your open personality and determined aim to enable successful conversations and exchange among the participants made all the difference.
We also appreciated your diligence in designing strategic questions and documenting outcomes. In addition, you were available for any detailed questions by the organising team, which made my services very confident throughout the preparation process and the event itself.”
